Trust in the Lord...He will make a way... And my First Give-away

Dear Friends,

Thank you for stopping by my Word-Filled Wednesday (WFW) and Thankful Thursday (TT) post and my First Give-away! I am combining these 2 in order to share the same picture and verse for WFW with my TT friends.

(I took this picture at a Flower Exhibition in Singapore)

Proverbs 3

5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

♥ Thank God that through all the changing scenes in life, I can put my trust in God and He will guide and direct me in the paths He wants me to go.

♥ Thank God for His mercies and faithfulness that are new every morning!

♥ Thank God for always working His ways for me where there seemed to be no way.

Are you going through a tough time now and there seems no way out? Don't give up! Keep trusting in God. He will make a way for you where there seems to be no way. For with Him all things are possible (Matthew 19:26).

Hope this song "God will make a way" will encourage you to continue to trust in God to work a way for you.

God will make a way

God will make a way
Where there seems to be no way
He works in ways we cannot see
He will make a way for me
He will be my guide
Hold me closely to His side
With love and strength for each new day
He will make a way, He will make a way.

By a roadway in the wilderness, He'll lead me
And rivers in the desert will I see
Heaven and earth will fade
But His Word will still remain
He will do something new today.

God will make a way,
Where there seems to be no way
He works in ways we cannot see
He will make a way for me
He will be my guide
Hold me closely to His side
With love and strength for each new day
He will make a way, He will make a way

♥ I thank God for my family, church, friends and every one of you my blogging friends and visitors.

♥ I am thankful to God for the prayers and encouragements of so many of you! It is my joy and privilege to meet all of you through blogging! I am greatly blessed and encouraged by many of you. Thank you for your friendships!

♥ I am thankful to God that I can serve Him through this blog. It has been a great blessing for me to share my life and God's goodness to me, as well as some useful resources and articles with you. I have been greatly blessed by your posts and comments too.

It is my joy to announce my First Give-away!

My First Give-away!

As some of you probably know, I love photography and making bookmarks.

The following are 6 bookmarks that I will be giving away.

The photos that I used to make these bookmarks are taken by me, my friends and my brother. The pink (1st) and peach rose (2nd), and the green beach (6th) pictures are taken by me. The eagle (3rd) is taken by my friend CWFong, the sunrise (4th) is taken by my friend HS and the beautiful blue beach (5th) is taken by my brother at Muriwai Beach, New Zealand. Thank God for these friends and my brother who allowed me to use their pictures to make bookmarks.

I am also taking this opportunity to ask for feedback from you regarding my blog so that I can improve on it and make it more useful to you and other readers.

Click at the picture to see a bigger version of the bookmark.

If you are interested to own these 6 bookmarks, let me know your opinion on the following by leaving a comment here. You may answer in parts if you need to think about some of the answers :) and then come back and comment further :)

1) What do you like about this blog or how have you been helped by this blog?

2) What improvement would you like to see on this blog or what would you like to read here?

3) Which is your favorite Bible verse?

I will choose 5 best answers (or more) and each person will receive these 6 bookmarks or alternatively any 6 bookmarks from my website Homemade Bookmarks and Gifts.

Give-away begins today and ends next Tuesday. I will announce who are the 5 (or more) persons who will receive these 6 bookmarks next Wednesday.

I hope you will participate! I love to hear from you and to know how best I can improve on this blog.

Remember you may answer in parts if you need to think about some of the answers :) and then come back and comment further :) So you don't have to answer all the questions at one time if you need some time to think about the answers. And have fun :)

May God continue to bless you with His love and mercies, guide and lead you, and make a way for you in whatever you may go through today and every day :)

For more Word-Filled Wednesday participants, do
visit Amy at The 160 Acre Woods. It will be a very blessed and encouraging experience for you.

For more participants of Thankful Thursday, do visit Iris at Sting My Heart.

Thank you for stopping by. Thanks for your encouragements. Hope you have a blessed day!

Nancie your WFW ant tT are lovely. Your verse for today is one of my favoorite-one of the first verses I memorized. Thanks. The bookmarks are greatand your site is lovely. I come and I'm sure most come becasue you give words of encouragment and your words flow from the heart and my spirit tells me you love the Lord and you love writing on this blog-you want to be a source of encouragment for others. I would really have to think about what you cn do to make it beeter. I think blogs reflect the person who owns it. I think any changes you make should reflect what speaks to your heart, pictures designs. They should make you feel good when you come and if the site brings you pleas ure than it will bring pleasure to others. I work as a counselor with persons with disabilities, many with bipolar and many need a place of encouragement. You offer that here- so for me just keep doing what you are doing and ask the Lord to guide and direct you with any changes. Be blessed my sister.

Nancie,

You are so thoughtful and generous!

Thank you for always leading us back to God in love! Thank you for always encouraging others who may be experiencing pain and doubting they will ever come out of it!

I love your blog and how you use it for all of the above.

I love the color - green is so calming!

Psalm 143:8 on your bookmark is one of my favorites, as is Proverbs 3:5-6 because they remind me to always seek Him, be listening to Him and trust in Him NOT me!

I love you and am so blessed to know you! Come enter my give-away too :-)

Hugs this morning dear one,
Jill

I love how you had your WFW done...such a breath of beauty!

Love to answer your questions.

1) What do you like about this blog or how have you been helped by this blog?

I just really enjoy reading about your faith in our Heavenly Father, the honestly and love that you show through it and the encouragement that you share to others.

2) What improvement would you like to see on this blog or what would you like to read here?

Not sure what you should or can improve! Lol...I guess it would be great to see more about your photography and love to hear how you got started.

3) Which is your favorite Bible verse?
Isaiah 7:9

It took me a long time for me to let my guard down and fully allow the Lord to come in and through me and to accept Him as my Lord and Saviour and I regret not having allow Him into my life sooner but I remind myself through this verse where I was and where I am going now with Him rather than without Him.

Nancie,

You are a sweet sister who always takes the time to encourage others...it doesn't get better than that. And I like the green...I agree, it's soothing. But I also agree, that maybe some more of your photography because your photography is beautiful.

My favorite bookmarker is the 2 Corinthians 12:9 one. I love that scripture and the photo. The bookmarkers are precious.

Blessings to you today, Nancie!

Every WFW, I always look for your name first. I know that your posts are going to be encouraging and are going to minister to me. I also know that God led me to your blog at just the right time because we have been dealing with a new situation in our family very much like yours. Reading your blog has helped me know more about what to do and how to help my own family member.

Thank you so much for your beautiful life!

First, Happy WFW and early TT! Perfect verse to go with the beautiful photo.

In answers to your questions...

1) What do you like about this blog or how have you been helped by this blog?

I love the labels you have in your sidebar. It's easy to find a topic that interests me and can provide me with help!

2) What improvement would you like to see on this blog or what would you like to read here?

I love your blog just the way it is. Not saying that to gain points, just statin' the obvious!

3) Which is your favorite Bible verse?

That's like asking a parent to choose their favorite child, but twi that I have found helpful recently just keep coming up over and over again are : "May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer." ~ Psalm 19:14

and

"The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." ~ Deuteronomy 31:8

sailorcross said...

Hi Nancie!!

I was just looking at your bookmarks not two days ago and admiring them. And now we have a chance to win them? That is wonderful!!

In answer to your questions:

1. What do I like or how have I been helped by this blog?

I love the fact that you are an encourager to me. Your positive attitude shines through your posts, even in difficult times. You have helped me to always look to Christ for any questions or problems I may need answered. And I like how you are trying to erase the social stigma that is STILL being applied to mental disease after all these years!

2. What improvements would I like seen?

That is a hard one. I read your blog last night and thought on it. The only thing that I can even come close to is some additional pictures of the beautiful photography that you add. The pictures you have displayed so far display calmness, the beauty of God's creation, and we all need to experience more of that.

3. My favorite Bible verse:

This changes from time to time depending upon my situation and circumstances. Right now, here are my favorites:

Hebrews 4:16--Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Hebrews 11:1--Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

and my all time favorite always:

Zephaniah 3:17--The LORD you God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.

I have a picture in my mind of God singing over me, dancing around me, being happy over me, and this brings me great calmness, peace and joy--even in troubled times.

Sweet friend,
You are so precious to offer your creations to your readers.
I love coming to your blog for encouragement and to hear the heart of a Christ follower. You don't need to change a thing.
One of my favorite verses if Phil. 4:19, And my God shall supply all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
I wrote on my thankful list that I was thankful His mercies are new every morning.

2) What improvement would you like to see on this blog or what would you like to read here?
***Your blog is already very good i guess i can suggest you can put the follower gadgets at least who wants to follow your blog they can follow you.

3) Which is your favorite Bible verse?
***My favorite verse in your bookmarks is the last one "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God" Romans 8:28 meaning whatever we experience, receive and happened to us there is a reason for it. we will not worry, or complain because we don't know what is His plan...

Nancie,
I have been busy writing and have just updated my blog again this week. Come visit! The bookmarks are so pretty...I love the pictures you have taken. What I like best is meeting a new friend from Singapore! I believe you are the first person I have met from there. You have a sweet spirit and so much encouragement to give others. It shows everyday. Just keep giving words of encouragement and scripture to those who need to hear...nothing can improve upon that! As someone who struggles with a mood disorder myself, I look forward to your posts. I have several favorite verses, but the one that really sticks with me is James 1:2-5
Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
God is good!
Love,
Kathy

Hi Nancie, this comes a week late :-) But it's ok, I'll give this a miss. Having your friendship is in itself such a blessing to me.

Just wanted to say you make lovely bookmarks and I think it's a wonderful idea on your give away.

Looking at all the lovely comments, you know where you come from :-) It's funny how God leads us to each other. For that, I'm thankful. God knows that each of us need encouragement in our daily walk with Him. You are such an encouragement to all. I believe this is your gift and calling. I believe God called for me to learn from you.

And when you asked what we like about your blog, I think I've not really looked at your blog as "a blog" but as you, a friend and a sister in Christ. Just continue to be who you are, living as how Christ wants us to live. That's enough.

Isaiah 40:31 is my favourite verse. Many a times this verse is followed by my personal sighting of eagles during the times I am at my low. Will share about that some other time. I believe yours would be Romans 8:37. Judging from your heading :-)

Sorry, this is such a long comment.
